Hayloft guide
Guide a scene with chat controls
Roleplay works better when you can adjust a response without throwing away the whole conversation. Hayloft includes controls for changing a reply, correcting a detail, or returning to an earlier point in the story.
Regenerate or try a variant
Use regeneration when you want a new take on the latest reply. A variant is useful when the current response is plausible but you want to compare a different direction, tone, or wording before deciding how the scene should continue.
Edit a message for a small correction
Edit your own message when the intent was right but the wording, action, or detail was not. This is often cleaner than sending a follow-up that asks the character to ignore what you just said.
Rewind when a branch needs to change
Rewind is for a bigger course correction. Return to an earlier message when the scene took a turn you do not want to keep, then continue from that point. Use it sparingly: choose a clear point in the conversation rather than repeatedly rewinding a long sequence.
Pin memories and fix lore
Pin a memory when a detail should remain important as the scene grows. Use a lore fix when the story has an established fact wrong. These are continuity tools, not just another way to request a different style of reply.
Read memory and continuity for examples of what makes a correction useful.
Choose the smallest useful change
Start with the least disruptive control. Regenerate a reply when only the latest response is off, edit when your message needs a correction, use a lore fix for a fact, and rewind when the entire branch should change. That preserves more of the story you already like.
