Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Hayloft Technologies LLC collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use Hayloft.

1. Overview
Hayloft is an AI-powered fictional roleplay, storytelling, and character interaction platform. We store chats, character data, and memory/context data on servers and databases so persistence, memory, continuity, safety, support, and account features can work.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Hayloft, we may collect:
- Account data, such as email address, login data, user ID, account settings, and subscription tier.
- Profile and persona data, such as display name, username, pronouns, gender, avatars, preferences, and roleplay identity settings.
- Chats, messages, prompts, generated outputs, character data, character cards, opening scenes, and public character listings.
- Memory and continuity data, including memory summaries, scene state, lore/context fixes, pinned memories, and relationship context.
- Reports, safety reports, copyright or IP complaints, moderation records, and support communications.
- Usage analytics, feature events, latency data, error categories, cost-monitoring metadata, and approximate token or message counts.
- Device and browser data, such as IP address, user agent, cookies, session data, referrer, page views, and diagnostic logs.
- Payment and subscription metadata, such as subscription status, product or price identifiers, renewal status, and payment processor customer IDs. We do not store full card numbers.
In the app, your username and avatar may be public. Your roleplay name, pronouns, and gender are intended for private chat personalization and are not meant to be shown publicly by default.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, debug, and improve Hayloft.
- Create, save, display, and continue conversations and characters.
- Generate AI responses and maintain memory, continuity, and scene context.
- Moderate public content, review reports, enforce policies, and prevent abuse.
- Manage accounts, authentication, subscriptions, payments, support, and service notices.
- Analyze performance, usage, safety, costs, reliability, and product quality.
4. AI and Model Processing
Chats, prompts, character settings, recent message history, memory/context, lore fixes, safety context, and related information may be processed by Hayloft servers and third-party AI/model processing providers to generate replies and operate the Service.
Do not enter secrets, highly sensitive information, or information you do not want processed by Hayloft or third-party AI/model processing providers.
5. Model Training and Product Improvement
Hayloft does not currently train its own foundation models on private chat content. Hayloft may use aggregated, de-identified, or metadata-level information to improve safety, reliability, performance, memory quality, moderation, and product features. Chats and related content may be processed by third-party AI/model infrastructure providers as needed to generate responses and operate the Service.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
Hayloft may use third-party processors for hosting, database, authentication, storage, AI/model processing, analytics, payments, subscription management, email, support, monitoring, logging, security, and infrastructure. These providers may process information on our behalf according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data processing practices.
7. Payments and Subscriptions
Payments and subscriptions may be processed by Apple, Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, or other payment processors depending on platform. We may receive subscription metadata, customer identifiers, payment status, renewal status, cancellation status, and limited billing-related information. Payment processors handle payment details according to their own policies.
For mobile App Store purchases, Hayloft uses subscription-management services to sync purchase status to your account so Premium benefits can remove Free limits and upgrade reminders. We do not receive your full payment card number from App Store purchases.
8. Analytics, Ads, and Sale/Sharing
Hayloft does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may define certain analytics, advertising, or cross-context data sharing as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" even when no money is exchanged. If Hayloft uses those technologies, we will provide disclosures and choices required by applicable law.
9. Reports, Safety, and Moderation
Users may report characters, chats, messages, profiles, or content in-app or by emailing support@hayloftai.com. We may review reported content, account information, and related context where needed for safety, legal, moderation, support, security, or abuse-prevention purposes.
10. Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, maintain accounts, support memory and continuity, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce policies, prevent abuse, maintain security, and operate backups and logs.
You may permanently delete your account using the Delete Account tool in the app. You may also request access, correction, export, or help with deletion by emailing support@hayloftai.com. Account deletion removes or anonymizes account data from active systems, but limited records may remain temporarily in backups, logs, moderation records, legal records, security records, payment records, or archival systems.
Ordinary backup and log retention is generally up to 90 days. We may retain information longer where required or reasonably necessary for legal, security, abuse-prevention, dispute-resolution, chargeback, compliance, moderation, or similar reasons.
11. Children and Minors
Hayloft is intended only for users 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to create accounts or use the Service. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to Hayloft, contact support@hayloftai.com.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No online service, database, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. International Users
Hayloft may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using Hayloft, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your location.
14. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict certain processing of your information. Email support@hayloftai.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. The updated policy will apply after it becomes effective.
